YOUR DATA
Privacy policy
Updated October 25, 2026
Steppy is a step-counting leaderboard app. You choose a display name; no email or password is required. The app uses Firebase anonymous authentication to create an account identifier.
Information used by the app
With your permission, Steppy reads step counts from Apple Health (HealthKit). It does not read other Health data or your location. Your display name, account identifier, step totals, group membership and in-app progress are stored using Google Firebase to operate the app.
Private groups and public Community
Members of groups you join can see your shared step totals and profile, including achievements and equipped cosmetics. Groups are joined using an invite code.
Community is optional and off by default. If you join, your chosen Community username, step totals and streak become visible to other Steppy users. You can leave Community from Settings to remove your Community entry.
Service providers
Google Firebase provides authentication and data storage. Your information is processed by these services to run Steppy. Steppy does not sell your step data.
This website uses Rybbit, a self-hosted, cookieless analytics tool, to count page visits. It does not use cookies or track you across other websites.
Data retention and deletion
Step history is retained to support historical leaderboards and competitions. You can delete your account and associated data in the app’s Settings. You can also manage Health access in your iPhone’s settings.
Changes and questions
This policy may be updated as the app changes. For support, use the support contact linked from Steppy’s App Store listing.
